Today in speech class our professor said something that got me thinking. This isn't an exact quote, because I didn't write it down word for word, but this is the gist of what he said. People become used to almost everything, and become callous. This is a terrible thing.

    I'm back!  It's nice to be back, even though I didn't want to be when I first arrived.  Last semester was just so stressful all I wanted to do was stay home.  But this semester looks like it's going to be a lot better than last, especially now that all the problems I had last semester are settled.  Classes are going to be a lot better, even ( Read more... )

    I heard from a friend today that one of our close friends was being deployed to Afghanistan sooner than we thought he would be.  I'm surprised and upset.  We were hoping that he'd be able to finish out the semester, but it looks like he'll be leaving in December now, instead of in January.  I'm worried about him, and scared too.   Who knows ( Read more... )

    Elise is going to the medical center at Hershey.  She left this morning.  We found out how sick she really was yesterday when she came over.  God, I'm scared.  The doctors think she has Wilson's disease, which is a genetic disease that causes copper buildup in the organs, including the liver and brain.  If they're right, it explains a lot of ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my last day at Grey Towers.  God.  I'm home now, and then headed back out to Penn State on Saturday.  That's exciting, but at the same time I'm really sad.  I had a wonderful, amazing summer, and this internship was the perfect experience, and now it's over.  A large part of me wishes I could have stayed.  I turned in my radio ( Read more... )
